The Criminal Divisions prosecutes felonies and misdemeanors pursuant to Indiana criminal code.
Our Office consists of multiple prosecutors and criminal case support staff members dedicated to specific courts and types of cases.
Our office leads Howard County's law enforcement's efforts to make a safer community and to obtain justice in each case.
Our office reviews criminal complaints referred by the Howard County Sheriff's Department, the Kokomo Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Indiana Gaming Commission, the Department of Natural Resources, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, and other agencies for crimes alleged to have been committed in Howard County.
Our office stands in strong support of our role as Minister of Justice, the United States and Indiana Constitutions, Indiana Law, and the presumption of innocence.
Defendant's are presumed innocent until proven guilty or determined guilty by agreement.
Our office is responsible for prosecuting cases that are believed to have sufficient evidence to overcome the presumption of innocence.
